This person supports activities of daily living (ADL's) with patients and prevents complications.Roles and Responsibilities:Direct Patient Care- Toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring and recording intake and output of fluids, recording patient weight, obtaining vital signs, and reporting abnormal findings or changes in the patient's conditions to the RN.Reinforcing education with patients; i.e. incentive spirometer use, and fall prevention.Maintaining a clean and organized patient bedside area to ensure a safe workspace.Intentionally rounding on each patient every hour.Mandatory Orientation Training completion required: one full week of Monday through Friday 8a-4p prior to starting work on the unit.Required Skills and Experience:High school or equivalent experienceBLS- will be provided if neededPreferred Skills and Experience:NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA)Previous patient care experiencePhysical Requirements:Frequent hand and finger use (e.g., to operate a computer keyboard).Lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs.
